Here is a light, pretty dessert that is quick and simple! This is the perfect ending for those who cannot bear to eat another bite at a large holiday dinner. Use citrus fruit, such as Clementines or Satsuma tangerines, as I prepared, or even beautiful pink grapefruit.

1 Cup of water
1/2 Cup of white sugar
3 Cinnamon sticks
8 Clementine oranges (or 8 tangerines or 4 pink grapefruit), peeled and sliced crosswise
  1. Bring water, sugar and cinnamon to a simmer in a small heavy saucepan. Simmer until the sugar has dissolved about a minute or two.
  2. Arrange the prepared citrus fruit in a large bowl and pour warm cinnamon syrup over the fruit. Let sit for about 20 minutes and serve.

Note:  This can be made ahead, chilled and brought to room temperature. Just remove the cinnamon sticks if preparing ahead so the syrup does not darken. Return cinnamon to oranges and syrup for a nice presentation.
